What to Expect

Treated by interns, supervised by faculty

Your clinical intern is in the final phase of a rigorous four-year program. Every treatment is overseen by one of the licensed acupuncturists on our clinical staff.

  • Interns may work in pairs, and a student completing observation hours may sit in — never more than two interns and one observer.
  • In our group practice we can’t always schedule you with the same intern — trying different interns keeps your treatment plan moving consistently.
  • Wear loose-fitting clothing (or bring a change), eat a light meal beforehand, and bring a list of your medications and supplements.
  • New patients: arrive 30 minutes early, or download the patient forms ahead of your visit.

Fees

Our fees

Adults

$40

Per visit, ages 18+. Payment by cash, check, credit/debit, or FSA/HSA card.

Students, veterans & children

$30

Full-time students, veterans, and patients under 18. Daoist Traditions students receive an additional discount.

Herbal medicine is priced separately and paid for when prescribed. Card payments carry a $1.25 service charge; returned checks incur a $40 fee. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged $40, and arriving more than 15 minutes late may shorten or reschedule your treatment.

Herbal Medicine

An extensive herbal dispensary

Your intern and their supervisor can craft a custom herbal formula to carry your treatment between visits — drawing on a dispensary stocked with herbs our own students help cultivate in the college gardens.

Come to a Community Day

Community Days are a friendly first step — mini-treatments, an introduction to our clinical interns and supervisors, and honest answers about whether Chinese medicine can help.

Gift cards are also available — share the medicine with someone you love.

Looking for Dr. Majebé’s private practice? That’s the Chinese Acupuncture & Herbology Clinic — a separate practice she founded in 1985, staffed by licensed practitioners in Asheville and Hendersonville. Our teaching clinic here on South French Broad Avenue is staffed by supervised student interns, which is what keeps visits so affordable.
